Whenever my parents come into town, it’s always a good time! I go to Indio (about 25 minutes south of Palm Springs) at least once a year, and had been begging them to come check it out for themselves because I knew they’d love it (I was right, of course).
We stayed at the WorldMark Indio, which has a massive pool, a lazy river, mountain views, large ponds and waterfalls, full size kitchens in all the units and tons of grills to cook out. I L-O-V-E the lazy river! Because what’s better than floating in a big inner tube with a cocktail in hand and the sun shining on your face?
It was a minimum of 100 degrees every day, so I made sure to bring lots of dessert friendly, lightweight items to keep me cool. I’m so excited to share a few of my favorite styles from the trip! Prepare for lots of prints and bright colors.
Nothing says summer quite like watermelon, am I right?! I saw this wrap online and immediately had to get it. I’m not sure if it’s the sweet, juicy taste or the bright red/pink color, but I’ve always loved watermelons.
I usually tend to avoid one pieces because 1. I was a gymnast for a long time and they remind me of leotards (I totally used to swim in them too though, haha), and 2. I am tall and have a long torso. If you’re a tall gal, you know the struggle to find a good-fitting one-piece swimsuit is real. This one worked because the ties allowed you to adjust the straps, but I am still on the hunt to find the perfect long-torso suit. I am wearing a large for reference (tried on the XL and it was way too big in the bust).
Share any long-torso bathing suit recommendations in the comments please and thank you!
Palm Springs Style 3: Floral Maxi at That Pink Door
I may or may not have planned this final outfit around this pink door (aka #thatpinkdoor) in Palm Springs. I also may or may not have requested a small detour for this photo op on the way back to Los Angeles from Indio….but it was totally worth it!
This iconic door is even more beautiful in person, and was the perfect backdrop for this super feminine floral maxi wrap dress (any my parents’ adorable tourist wear). My maxi is extremely lightweight, and I just love the bow-tie detail on the waist.
Paired with pink tassel earrings, blush heels, and a pink crossbody, this look would be perfect for a wedding, brunch, graduation or an impromptu photo shoot in front of a pink wall (or door).
Which look is your favorite?

Love the article. In a day an age where people want more on-demand experiences- you do a fantastic job at bridging the ‘big picture’ with commerce and adventure! Who knows, maybe I’ll buy one of these pieces for myself!
